Save Net Neutrality
Okay, I don't believe in voting (long story, another time) and when I 1st heard about this thing going on with Net Neutrality, I thought that there is no way in hell the government could pass a law limiting our internet freedom. Well, guess what, they sure are trying and our internet freedom is currently on the line. Seriously.
The bottom line is Net Neutrality is good. It allows us the freedom to view whatever we want, whenever we want, on the internet. There is currently a law that is being pushed by all the big telecom companies (AOL, Time Warner, Verizon, AT&T), that will give preferential treatment to websites that pay the internet service provider (AOL, Time Warner, Verizon, AT&T) a hefty fee. For example, say you want to go check out MySpace. You try to go there and your ISP either does not allow you to go there, or they make MySpace.com run painfully slow, because Friendster.com paid the ISP thousands of dollars for preferential treatment. WTF?! This is just censorship sponsored by greed. Total bullshit. Still don't get what this is all about? Maybe Ask a Ninja can help:
Seriously, though, please go to SaveTheInternet.com and fill out their petition (it will take you 10 seconds). I also emailed my Senator (Barbara Boxer, since I'm in California) and found out that she is in favor of Network Neutrality. That's a good thing.
