Summer's Shenanigans

Have you seen my Kuta?

My Dog is REALLY Funny

My wonderful boyfriend, Stefan, decided to give Kuta a bath while I ran a couple of errands. When I got back, Kuta was really happy, a little bit wet and dirtier then before. I asked what happened and luckly there was photgraphic evidence of what transpired:

As much as Kuta loves water and doesn't mind being bathed, he thinks that actually being clean SUCKS!

U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein on Net Neutrality

Here is the response I got from U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein in regards to Network Neutrality:

"Dear Mrs. Hogan:

Thank you for writing to me about open access to the Internet and network neutrality. I appreciate hearing from you.

I agree with the general principles of network neutrality that owners of the networks that provide access to the Internet should not control how consumers lawfully use that network and should not be able to discriminate against content provider access to that network.

As Congress debates changes to our telecommunications laws this year, many different proposals have been offered regarding network neutrality. The question arises whether or not action is needed to ensure unfettered access to the Internet. I believe any workable solution must balance the needs of the network, service and information providers. Please know that when legislation regarding network neutrality comes before the Senate I will be sure to keep your specific views in mind.

Again, thank you for writing. If you should have any comments or questions, I hope you will feel free to contact my Washington, DC staff at (202) 224-3841.

Sincerely yours,

Dianne Feinstein
United States Senator
"

It sounds like she supports Net Neutrality, but some of the vague responses make me think that she is just being the typical politician and trying to cover her ass:

"...I agree with the general principles of network neutrality..."

"...The question arises whether or not action is needed..."

"...I will be sure to keep your specific views in mind..."

FORE!!!!!

Watch out, Summer is teeing up!!

I played my 1st game of real live golf on Friday and it was F*#%ing AWESOME! I love golf. It's SO much fun, which means I will be working even less as I golf more...haha.

On Friday, I played golf at the Lomas Santa Fe Executive Course with Julien, Ann, Stefan and Scott. I was well into my 4th beer by the 5th hole, so it was a little blurry by the end, but I played again on Saturday with my brother, Stefan, Kozai, Forrest, Josh M, Josh L, Nikki, Julien, Anne and Scott. And let me tell you, I can putt like it's nobodies business (thanks for taking my to Family Fun Center all those years, Dad!!)! Once I get used to the awesome new Wilson clubs that Stefan bought me for my b-day I will be undoubtably be going pro, shortly.

And, a shout out to the golf course for putting up with us playing speed racer bumper cars and doing 180 degree spins on the fairway with their golf carts. We'll try to behave next time. I swear...

Easing into the big 2-8

Today I turned the big 2-8, as in two more years until I'm 30! WTF?! Weird how time flies. Here I am exactly 27 years ago:

So, as I stroll into my late 20's, I'd like to give some shout outs. First off, to my Mom, Robin:

Thank you for being the awesomest mom and human being anyone could hope to have or be. To this day, I have never met anyone that is as selfless, smart and funny (Is that where I get it from?!? haha ;)...). My mom even sent me to fashion school and paid for the whole thing (even though she didn't have the money)! But then again, I've always been fashionable, so I can see how she recognized my potential:

Next up, my Dad, Mr. Mike:

First things first, thank you for getting the worlds worst vasectomy, so that I could be conceived a year later :). Surprise!! Haha...My Dad is the funnest, coolest Dad ANYwhere. While Robin provided stability (tried to) and all that other great crap that kids need and don't appreciate, my Dad was the king of adventure. Every weekend was like going to camp!! Weeeeee!! Dad would cook us all kinds of cool things like cheeseburgers, but he would cut the burger is half and put the cheese in the middle. OMG. AWESOME! He would even roll us sushi (WAY before sushi was cool and on every corner). Mexico, snakes, bungee cords, poison oak in my eye, need I go on?! We were like wild children, running through the fields! No, really, look:

Jesus, people, when was the last time I brushed my hair in that pic?! There is my brother, Shawn, apparently playing the guitar for me while I did an interpretive dance in that sweet blue leotard/swimsuit.

My brother, Shawn:

Thanks for not killing me. I'm pretty sure you've come pretty close a few times, like when you used to push me into the electric fence, when mom wasn't home. I was thinking about it the other day and when I have kids, I want to have at least two, just because I don't have a relationship with anyone else in the world like I do with my brother and I wouldn't want to rob a kid of the chance of having a sibling. Plus, Shawn always takes me to the airport because he doesn't have a real job ;).

Well, there it is, my awesome immediate family. I'm outta here...

Barbara Boxer on Net Neutrality

Here is the email I got back from California Senator, Barbara Boxer, when I emailed her about the importance of Network Neutrality:

"Dear Miss Hogan:

Thank you for contacting me regarding network neutrality, which is the principle that consumers should have access to the Internet content and applications of their choice without interference from network operators. I appreciate the opportunity to hear your views on this issue.

As a longtime advocate for network neutrality, I believe that network operators should facilitate, not stifle, Americans' access to the Internet. Individuals' ability to define and shape their experiences on the Internet has led to an explosion of creativity that has greatly benefited our economy and our lives. I fear that if network operators abandon the principle of network neutrality, the next generation of Internet innovators will be harmed.

As you may know, Congress is considering several bills on this issue. On June 8, 2006, the House of Representatives passed H.R.5252, a major telecommunications reform bill. Unfortunately, this bill does not contain any network neutrality provision.

A similarly broad telecommunications bill, S.2686, has been introduced in the Senate by Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK). In its current form, this bill's network neutrality provision fails to protect open and equal access to the Internet. In fact, S.2686 merely directs the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to study the issue. As a member of the Senate Commerce Committee, which is now considering S.2686, I am working to improve this provision.

In addition, I am co-sponsoring S.2917, the Internet Freedom Preservation Act. This bill would prevent network operators from discriminating against their competitors' use of the network by giving certain content preferential treatment.

Again, thank you for writing to me. Please be assured that I will keep fighting for legislation that will ensure that the Internet remains an engine of growth for commerce and ideas.

Barbara Boxer
United States Senator
"

So the good thing is that Barbara Boxer supports Net Neutrality. The bad news is that many senators couldn't care less about it, so be sure to contact your state senator, damn it!! Save the mother f-ing internet, already!!!

Save Net Neutrality

Save the Internet: Click here
Okay, I don't believe in voting (long story, another time) and when I 1st heard about this thing going on with Net Neutrality, I thought that there is no way in hell the government could pass a law limiting our internet freedom. Well, guess what, they sure are trying and our internet freedom is currently on the line. Seriously.

The bottom line is Net Neutrality is good. It allows us the freedom to view whatever we want, whenever we want, on the internet. There is currently a law that is being pushed by all the big telecom companies (AOL, Time Warner, Verizon, AT&T), that will give preferential treatment to websites that pay the internet service provider (AOL, Time Warner, Verizon, AT&T) a hefty fee. For example, say you want to go check out MySpace. You try to go there and your ISP either does not allow you to go there, or they make MySpace.com run painfully slow, because Friendster.com paid the ISP thousands of dollars for preferential treatment. WTF?! This is just censorship sponsored by greed. Total bullshit. Still don't get what this is all about? Maybe Ask a Ninja can help:

Seriously, though, please go to SaveTheInternet.com and fill out their petition (it will take you 10 seconds). I also emailed my Senator (Barbara Boxer, since I'm in California) and found out that she is in favor of Network Neutrality. That's a good thing.

Snow White Has Really Let Herself Go...

Along with Britany Spears, it looks like yet another celebrity has let herself go.

After popping out 7 little dwarves of their own, her Prince ran off with Little Red Riding Hood (I always knew she was a slut!!) and unfortunately a brief stint in rehab wasn't enough to keep poor Snow White off the cake...

I Have $100K in Available Credit

So why the hell am I getting bombarded with credit applications?! It has gotten so annoying that I decided to collect all the credit applications I get in the mail and this is what I get in ONE WEEK:

So in one postal week I've gotten the following amount of credit card appliations: 2 from MBNA (Hellllooooo, I already have an account with you guys!), 4 from Bank of America, 2 from American Express, 1 from Washinton Mutual, 1 from Capital One, 3 from Citi, 1 from Union Bank, 1 from Discover, 1 from World Points, 1 from First National Bank, 1 from First Equity, and 5 from Chase (are you really going to send me credit apps 5 out of 6 days?!?).

Twenty three f-ing credit applications in one week.

It is seriously annoying. Just having that many credit applications floating around in my name puts me at a higher risk of identity theft and credit card fraud. Sweet. I wonder if I can get a restraining order against a credit card company...

Britany Spears is Officially White Trash

white trash britanyI've always thought that Britany Spears was a little on the white-trashy side, but it seems like her inner hick is really showing off lately. Here is a recent picture of pregnant Britany Spears, strutting around town, braless, in a micro mini dress, 6" heels and bright red lipstick. Nice roots too, Brit. Did I mention that she is PREGNANT?!? Some one please get Britany a stylist. PLEASE!

I really don't think Britany could have done a better job at looking trashy. Although, I just heard that Anne Nicole Smith got herself knocked up, so perhaps she can give Britany a run for her money...

Goodbye Cruel World!!!

puerto rico paradiseHellllllloooooooo Puerto Rico!

I think I might be moving to Puerto Rico. I've always wanted to live in a tropical climate and it looks like Puerto Rico may be my destination. Stefan and I are going to look at property there in August, so if all works out, I will be living on the beach, surfing everyday and getting a tan in about 12 months.

This is the plan: Stefan and I will buy beach-front property in Puerto Rico and move down there asap. I will move Vicious Enterprises headquarters to Los Angeles and turn everyday operations over to the only person I trust with my precious business (you know who you are!). We will buy a 4x4 truck for Puerto Rico, since the roads suck and we want to keep a low-profile. My X5 (which I will be getting in a couple of months) will live at my brothers house in San Diego, once he gets his 11 car garage built and I will fly out to San Diego every 3 months to check on the business and visit my family. I will continue working and expanding my business from Puerto Rico and live happily ever after. Gotta love the internet!
